Wyndham (formerly Trendwest) Sydney Suites involved the complete refurbishment of 121 serviced apartments, carried out over 15 levels.
The methodology and hours of works were carefully developed and agreed with the Hotel Manager, with the construction programme staged to ensure that no more than three floors (maximum 27 units) were offline at any given time to allow the Hotel to continue to operate as normal.
The lobby area was also totally refurbished in stages whilst the hotel operated. Lipman constructed and commissioned a temporary reception area prior to the works commencing to the original foyer. The staging allowed full access to the lifts to prevent any disruption to the hotel patrons and staff.
In addition, the essential services throughout the building were upgraded with a new EWIS, sprinklers, lighting, air-conditioning upgrades with stage by stage integration taking place to ensure that the operational sections of the hotel were not compromised.
