This new Lithgow Hospital was built on a 5.91 hectare site five (5) kilometres south of Lithgow. The hospital is single level brick veneer construction built around five (5) internal courtyards and provides 60 beds in private and public wards. Facilities include three (3) operating theatres, medical centre, rehabilitation area, acute care, obstetrics, and emergency department. It also accommodates a kitchen and store rooms. The hospital’s air conditioning relies on a geothermal system of heat transfer.

The Hospital also incorporates a helicopter pad situated on a grassed area between the Hospital and the Great Western Highway.
